The Oregon and Southwest Washington Chapter of the Association for Death Education and Counseling is a non-profit organization that exists to promote quality death education and counseling throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. ADEC-NW Fall Conference 2008
This conference will explore the needs, strengths and challenges for men grieving in our society. While historical understandings of how men grieve have often been shaped by stereotypes, our presenters will provide new perspectives for understanding and supporting men facing loss.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Dr. Kenneth J. Doka is a Professor at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Consultant to the Hospice Foundation of America. A prolific author, Dr. Doka has written 23 books and over 100 articles and book chapters. Dr. Doka's books include Men Don't Cry, Women Do: Transcending Gender Stereotypes of Grief.
